Albuquerque Mayor
TIM KELLER

Phone: (505) 768-3000 Email: MayorKellerIQ@cabq.gov

  • Hello, my name is [name] and I live in Albuquerque. I’m a constituent of Mr. Keller and I’ve voted for him in the past. I’m calling to urge Mr. Keller to oppose the “Education Center” that Parks and Rec and Open Space want to build in the Elena Gallegos Open Space. This building is prohibited by the Deed and the 1982 Purchase Agreement which protect the Elena Gallegos. It is clearly enshrined in these documents that the Elena Gallegos is to be maintained and preserved as true, undisturbed open space, with no modern buildings at all, and it is the duty of the Mayor to uphold these protections. This building would damage the natural setting of the area and negatively impact its wildlife. It would also be an eyesore amidst its beautiful, sweeping vistas and undermine the experience it offers of pure wilderness. This building is widely unpopular across all of Albuquerque and is not supported by the people. I urge Mr. Keller to uphold the covenants which protect the Elena Gallegos and to oppose this prohibited, expensive, unwanted and unnecessary building. Thank you.

  • Dear Mr. Keller,

I live in Albuquerque and am your constituent. I have voted for you in the past, and am writing now to urge you to oppose the “Education Center” that Parks and Rec and Open Space want to build in the Elena Gallegos Open Space.

This building is PROHIBITED by the Deed and 1982 Purchase Agreement which protect the Elena Gallegos. It is clearly enshrined in these documents that the Elena Gallegos is to be maintained and preserved as true, undisturbed open space, with no modern buildings at all, and it is your duty as Mayor to uphold these protections.

District 8 City Councilor
TRUDY JONES

Ms. Jones wants to deny any involvement with this project, but her “Policy Analyst” Aziza Chavez was a member of the City’s “Advisory Committee” which designed and approved the building. The Elena Gallegos is in Ms. Jones’ district.
